The Vonks is a 6-piece funk & groove-fusion band from Arnhem which proves that funk music is still alive and kicking and above all; grooving. They have a ‘groove first’ attitude which results - without exception - in an audience that forgets time and space, dancing to a tight rhythm section steamin’.

Frontman and trumpet player Gilles Vink is always present and ready to lead the band to the bridge. You could say their music sounds like the early growls of a secret love child from Lettuce, Tower of Power, RH Factor and The Headhunters.

Their eclectic mix of vintage funk and contemporary groove-fusion has taken them on stages like Mañana Mañana, Doornroosje, Valkhof Festival and Doesburg Jazz festival, just to name a few. They are now ready to conquer the groove scene of the Netherlands with their upcoming debut album, which is set for spring 2025.
