The Cradles
From small moments of happiness to larger than life melancholies, all is poetised by The Cradles under a comforting warmth of wandering guitars and tight grooves.
Bio
A teenage supermarket job has never proven more fruitful than when three future Cradles met in the aisles of their small-town grocer. Bonding over a love of music, mind-expanding subtances and exploring this curious world we find ourselves navigating through, they have been friends ever since. After years of friendship, the three decided to start playing songs together, eventually starting the band. In dire need of a drummer to complement their stringiness, the four of them were complete for a few years, playing shows and tentatively starting to write their own material.
Returning from a hiatus, wherein two members of the band explored the jungles and ancient cities in all corners of the globe, they felt they needed a new creative impulse. Adding a singer to the lineup furnished the band with its missing brick in the wall. Since, they’ve been exploring new ways of making musics, writing loads of novel material and further cementing their sounds.
The Cradles can best be described as a psychedelic indierock band, but their sound is not easy to pin down into one genre. Influences from all over the world and all throughout music history are worn on their musical sleeve and blend together into the songs they write, about growing older together, in this muzzy, fuzzy world we all call our home. From small moments of happiness to larger than life melancholies, all is poetised by The Cradles, under a comforting warmth of wandering guitars and tight grooves.
