Loki project Loki Project gives voice to the restless creativity of visual artist and musician Lieke Dijkstra (1995). Loki’s debut album “Game of Life” was released earlier this year (2025) by Mink Records and has already fetched international recognition from radio stations such as BBC 6 (Gilles Peterson), NTS (Coco Maria), 3voor12 and NPO Soul & Jazz. It is a richly visual and evocative album, full of transcendent harmonic feeling that combines textures of soul, hip-hop, indie and electronic-pop with a striking ethereal vocal delivery. Beautifully crafted songs that sound like they’ve been conjured up by ancestral spirits singing hidden worlds into existence. Modern witchcraft for the soul.

The release of “Game of Life” has already led to shows in renowned venues such as Paradiso, Paard, Burgerweeshuis, Bird and Ekko, as well as festivals such as Oerol, North Sea, Landjuweel and Into the Great Wide Open. When asked to define her music in terms of genre, she rightly avoids categorization by jokingly referring to it as ‘a dramatic meditation journey”. It is indeed music that defies fencing in, yet at its core, her sound is soulful in the original sense of soul music: spiritual, often political, and always human in the most fundamental way. Loki fuses storytelling, imaginative sound and visual art, often incorporating handcrafted ceramic masks, paper kites and other hand-made creations into her live shows. As a performer she is centered, tuned into some kind of radical frequency and utterly magnetic.
