Authentic is a Dutch-American rapper with roots in Los Angeles, where his love for hip-hop began alongside his passion for basketball. Growing up surrounded by music, he was always freestyling with friends, but it wasn’t until 2020, after meeting producer CasloBeats, that he began to take his craft seriously.

The duo released their first track, Ocean Views, in 2021, followed by three EPs and the infamous 420 Tape, a collaboration with Young Milla that garnered attention for its laid-back yet hard-hitting vibe.

In 2023, Authentic began performing live as a part of DeNieuweNotie, this started with open mics and quickly progressed to parties and showcases. By 2024, he shifted his focus from online platforms to a more live music-oriented approach. Recognizing the importance of fostering a stronger hip-hop community, Authentic set out to elevate the eastern music scene, both by pushing his own sound and helping others find their voice.

He started organizing open mic events, where he would perform with his live band and invite aspiring rappers and musicians to take the stage. This initiative not only promoted live instrumentation but also created a space for collaboration and growth within the underground Dutch hip-hop scene.

While it’s not yet clear what future plans Authentic is brewing up, one thing is certain: Live music will always be at the center of it.
