Ponta Nento is het project van Lotte Janssen, een zangeres en componist die haar persoonlijke ervaringen verweeft in muziek die de grenzen van jazz, improvisatie en meerstemmigheid verkent. Samen met vier vrouwelijke multi-instrumentalisten brengt ze intieme en verfijnde composities tot leven.

De start van dit project, het lied “July’s Hymn”, komt voort uit een persoonlijk rouwproces en bleek al snel een universele snaar te raken. Iedereen wordt vroeg of laat geconfronteerd met het feit dat we het leven helemaal niet onder controle hebben. Dit album gaat over het feit dat deze wetenschap je leven uiteindelijk juist verrijkt. Het stoïcisme is een leidende inspiratiebron voor de muziek.

De muziek van Ponta Nento is zowel introspectief als rustgevend. Na een landelijke tour langs theaters en kerken zijn ze momenteel bezig met het opnemen van hun debuutalbum.

Ponta Nento is the project of Lotte Janssen, a singer and composer who weaves her personal experiences into music that explores the boundaries of jazz, improvisation, and vocal harmonies. Together with four female multi-instrumentalists, she brings intimate and refined compositions to life.

The beginning of this project, the song "July’s Hymn," comes from a personal journey through grief and quickly resonated on a universal level. At some point, everyone faces the truth that we don't have control over life. This album explores how embracing that reality can actually enrich our lives. Stoicism serves as a key inspiration for the music.

The music of Ponta Nento is both introspective and soothing. After a nationwide tour of theaters and churches, they are currently working on recording their debut album.
